Homemade Snickers

Homemade Snickers bars recreate the layered candy bar by combining chocolate, peanut butter nougat, roasted peanuts, and caramel in a multi-step assembly. The recipe builds layers starting with a chocolate base, topped with a peanut butter and marshmallow nougat, crunchy peanuts, a smooth caramel layer, and finished with a chocolate-peanut butter coating. The bars set firm in the fridge and are cut into squares before serving.

Description

This recipe begins by melting semi-sweet chocolate with peanut butter to form a smooth base layer poured into a baking dish and frozen. A nougat layer is made by mixing marshmallow fluff, peanut butter, and powdered sugar, spread atop the chilled chocolate. Unsalted roasted peanuts are pressed into the nougat to add crunch.

The caramel layer is prepared by melting unwrapped caramels with heavy cream until smooth and poured over the nougat and peanuts, then the assembly is refrigerated. Finally, the remaining chocolate and peanut butter are melted and poured over the caramel layer, creating a glossy, firm covering once chilled.

The resulting bars have a rich interplay of creamy chocolate, sweet nougat, crunchy peanuts, and sticky caramel. Cutting into squares reveals the distinct layers, echoing the familiar Snickers texture and flavors.
