Homemade Wonton Soup

Homemade Wonton Soup features delicate dumplings filled with a mixture of ground pork, chopped shrimp, and aromatic seasonings, wrapped in thin wonton wrappers. The wontons are quickly boiled until tender and served in a flavorful chicken broth infused with garlic, ginger, pak choi, and green onions. The soup balances the savoriness of the filling with the lightness of the broth, making it a comforting and satisfying dish.

Description

Homemade Wonton Soup combines seasoned ground pork and finely chopped shrimp melded with spring onion, ginger, garlic, and a mix of oyster sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. These ingredients create a flavorful filling encased in wonton wrappers shaped into triangles and sealed by hand. The wontons are boiled briefly until they float, signaling that they are cooked through. The accompanying broth is made by bringing chicken stock to a boil with fresh garlic, ginger, pak choi, and green onion, which imparts a mild and aromatic flavor. The cooked wontons are then added to the broth, creating a warm soup that highlights the tender texture of the dumplings and the subtle taste of the vegetables and broth. This soup makes for a hearty, nourishing meal or a light starter, especially when served hot.
