Honey Garlic Chicken

Honey Garlic Chicken features boneless skinless chicken breasts coated in a seasoned flour and herb mixture, fried until crispy, then served with a thick honey garlic sauce. The sauce blends honey, minced garlic, and soy sauce thickened with cornstarch, providing a sweet and savory glaze that complements the crunchy exterior and tender meat inside. This chicken is cooked in batches for even crispiness and served immediately.

Description

This Honey Garlic Chicken recipe starts by preparing a honey garlic sauce on the stovetop, combining honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and thickening it with cornstarch slurry. This creates a glossy glaze with a balance of sweet and umami flavors.

Separately, chicken breasts are cut and seasoned, then dredged in a flour mixture seasoned with thyme, oregano, paprika, cayenne, and salt and pepper. After coating in beaten eggs and flour mixture again, the chicken is fried in vegetable oil until golden and crispy on each side.

The sequential double-dredging yields a textured crust that contrasts with the tender interior of the chicken. Cooking in batches ensures consistent heat for crispiness while preventing crowding. The hot honey garlic sauce is served alongside or drizzled over the fried chicken pieces, creating a sticky, flavorful finish.
