Honey Garlic Chicken
Description
This Honey Garlic Chicken begins with chicken thighs cut into bite-sized pieces and marinated with sesame oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, and cornstarch, developing initial flavor and tenderness. The honey garlic sauce blends honey, soy sauce, water, rice wine vinegar, garlic, and white pepper, thickened with cornstarch to a sticky consistency. Cooking starts by sautéing the chicken in unsalted butter until lightly browned, preserving moisture and creating a golden surface. Pouring the sauce over the chicken and simmering allows it to thicken and clings to the chicken. The dish finishes with a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onion to bring subtle nutty and fresh qualities. This approach results in flavorful, tender chicken with a glossy, balanced sauce that complements steamed rice or vegetables.
