Honey Glazed Carrots

Honey Glazed Carrots combine tender steamed or roasted carrots with a sweet glaze made from butter, honey, brown sugar, and a hint of citrus and thyme. This recipe includes three distinctive glaze variations: traditional, balsamic, and honey-glazed, each creating glossy, flavorful carrots with a balance of sweetness and acidity. The cooking methods—either stovetop or oven roasting—bring out the natural sweetness of the carrots while coating them in a shiny, slightly caramelized finish.

Description

Honey Glazed Carrots showcases carrots prepared in three ways: a traditional glaze with butter and brown sugar, a balsamic version featuring vinegar and honey baked until caramelized, and a honey glaze enhanced with orange juice and thyme. The carrots are either steamed and tossed in warm glaze or roasted with the balsamic mixture until tender and browned at the edges. The buttery or tangy glazes cling to the carrots, providing both moisture and a gentle sweetness. The thyme and citrus juice add subtle herbal and bright notes to the honey-glazed variation.

The dish works well as a side to complement a variety of main courses, delivering tender cooked carrots with an inviting, glossy coating. The method flexibility allows for stovetop preparation or oven roasting depending on preference or available kitchen tools.

Glazed carrots are best served freshly cooked to maintain their tender texture and shiny finish. The recipe notes include timing details and nutritional information for the honey-glazed variant, which can help with planning and dietary considerations.
