Honey Mustard Chicken

Honey Mustard Chicken combines tender shredded chicken cooked in a crockpot with a tangy blend of Dijon mustard, honey, and fresh rosemary. The slow cooking melds the sweet and savory flavors, creating a rich sauce that coats the chicken. This recipe is convenient for hands-off cooking and pairs well served over rice to soak up the sauce. The optional dried chives add a mild onion note and a touch of color as a garnish.

Description

Honey Mustard Chicken features chicken breast simmered in a mixture of Dijon mustard, honey, diced onion, garlic, and fresh rosemary inside a crockpot. The long, slow cooking breaks down the chicken until it is tender enough to shred and easily absorb the honey mustard sauce. The salted butter enriches the flavor while balancing the sweetness and tang.

The dish results in a lightly sweet and mildly tangy sauce coating the shredded chicken, with aromatic hints from the rosemary and savory depth from the onion and garlic. This technique yields moist chicken with a smooth sauce, ideal for a comforting meal.

Serving the shredded chicken over rice helps balance the robust honey mustard flavor and soaks up the sauce for a satisfying plate. The optional dried chives sprinkled on top add both a subtle color contrast and a fresh, mild herb note.
