Honey Pecan Crusted Salmon

Honey Pecan Crusted Salmon features salmon fillets topped with a sticky glaze composed of Dijon mustard, honey, and cooking oil mixed with chopped pecans and panko breadcrumbs. Baking this combination yields a golden, crunchy crust contrasting with the tender, flaky fish beneath. This recipe balances sweet, nutty, and savory notes in a baked salmon dish that is visually appealing and texturally interesting.

Description

The recipe creates a glaze by combining Dijon mustard, honey, and neutral oil with pecans and panko breadcrumbs, resulting in a textured paste that adheres to the salmon flesh side. Chopped pecans provide a nutty crunch while panko adds light crispiness. The salmon is salted and placed skin-side down on parchment-lined baking pans for even cooking and ease of cleanup.

Cooking in a 375°F oven allows gentle baking until the salmon reaches an internal temperature between 135-145°F, ensuring a moist and tender center. The mustard-honey glaze caramelizes slightly, creating a golden crust with both sweet and savory elements. A sprinkle of fresh parsley garnishes the dish, adding a fresh herbal note and color contrast.

This entrée can be served with simple sides to highlight the salmon’s flavors and textures. The recipe’s balance of ingredients prioritizes the natural qualities of the fish while adding distinct sweetness, nuttiness, and crunch through the topping.
