Instructions

  1. Whisk together the yogurt, honey and vanilla extract. Set aside.
  2. Combine all the fruit in a serving bowl. Toss with lemon juice and gently mix.
  3. Serve fruit individually in bowls/plates and dollop with a spoonful (or two!) of yogurt. Or, if you don't anticipate leftovers, toss the fruit and yogurt together for a creamy mishmash of fruit salad.

Notes

  • Texture: my main advice for this recipe is to choose a yogurt with a really creamy texture. Some fat-free or lowfat yogurts have a gritty texture, which is no good here. We want creamy! Extra creamy.
  • Yogurt: it probably goes without saying, but if you have a favorite already-flavored storebought honey vanilla yogurt (thinking of the Greek God's brand, which is good and super creamy + decadent, but sometimes a little pricey), it could easily sub for the plain yogurt mixture in the recipe. The great thing about whipping it up yourself (plain yogurt + honey + vanilla) is you can control all those elements for the perfect flavor combo.
  • Fruit: also, the fruit here is adaptable - just avoid really juicy fruits which will water down the yogurt.
