Hot Buttered Rum

Winter wouldn't be the same without some special joys like this Hot Buttered Rum. Make up a batch, store in the freezer and add hot water for an instant hot toddy!

Ingredients
Batter
- 1 c brown sugar
- 1 c powdered sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp cloves ground
- 2 butter softened or melted, sticks
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream softened, premium
Drink
- Scoop of Batter
- rum ideally spiced rum, shot
- water boiling
- nutmeg optional, or cinnamon
Instructions
- Mix sugar, cinnamon and cloves until well combined.
- Cream butter with sugar mixture until smooth
- Mix in softened ice cream. Batter will be a bit lumpy. Store in freezer.
- To make a drink: Add a shot of rum along with a heaping tablespoon of batter to a mug. Top with boiling water. Stir until combined and top with nutmeg or cinnamon if desired.
