Hot Chocolate Fudge
Description
This fudge recipe starts by melting a combination of semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips with butter, sweetened condensed milk, and hot chocolate mix in a double boiler, producing a smooth, chocolate-rich base. Adding marshmallows while still warm incorporates a soft, gooey contrast when set. Vanilla extract is stirred in for added aroma and depth.
Once poured into a prepared pan and topped with remaining marshmallows, the fudge is refrigerated for several hours to firm up. After chilling, it is cut into squares and finished with a drizzle of melted chocolate on top, which adds an elegant texture variation and visual appeal. Peppermint candy cane garnish underscores a seasonal flavor characteristic.
This fudge serves well as a dessert or snack, offering a dense, creamy texture and a nuanced profile of chocolate and peppermint. It is suitable for holiday occasions or chocolate lovers seeking a home-made treat with a rich mouthfeel.
