How To Cook Jacket Potatoes In Microwave

  • 2 jacket potato medium
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • butter optional

Instructions

  1. Fork your jacket potato so that it can breathe as it cooks. Then season it with salt and pepper. Then load your jackets onto the potato rack making sure that they are secured to the rack and are not going to fall off.
  2. Place your potato rack into the microwave.
  3. Microwave for 10-12 minutes depending on your microwave wattage.
  4. Remove from the microwave and do a fork test to make sure the jacket potato is fork tender.
  5. Then serve with butter and your favourite toppings.

Notes

  • Fork Test – You can also do the fork test from inside the microwave and then you don’t have to keep getting your potatoes out to check if they are done.
  • Wattage – The cook time for your jackets will vary depending on your wattage. Our 800w microwave cooked the jacket potatoes in 12 minutes.
