How to Make Chocolate Christmas Trees

How to Make Chocolate Christmas Trees creates festive chocolate treats by piping melted chocolate into tree shapes on parchment, decorated with holiday sprinkles and set to harden. Pretzel sticks serve as tree trunks, creating a sweet, crunchy seasonal decoration or edible snack. The process involves melting, piping, decorating, and setting without baking, making it accessible for holiday crafting.

Description

This recipe starts by melting chocolate using a double boiler or microwave to a smooth state, then cooling slightly before transferring to a piping bag or plastic storage bag. Pretzel sticks are lined up on parchment paper as tree trunks. Chocolate is piped in tapered tree shapes over and above the pretzel. While the chocolate is still tacky, colorful holiday sprinkles are added. The chocolate sets at room temperature or can be quickly chilled until firm.

The finished chocolate trees can be removed from the parchment and enjoyed as festive snacks or edible decorations. The contrast between the crisp chocolate and salty pretzel adds texture. Using sprinkles adds visual appeal appropriate for Christmas themes.

Regular baking chocolate can be substituted if melting chocolate is unavailable, adding vegetable oil to improve melt smoothness. Patience with cooling and setting ensures good shape retention.
