How to make Fudge

Report
This fudge recipe yields rich, creamy chocolate squares made by cooking evaporated milk, sugar, and butter to a firm ball stage, then stirring in chocolate chips and marshmallow creme for smoothness. The addition of vanilla and optional chopped nuts adds depth and texture, creating a classic, chewy confection that sets firm once cooled. It's a traditional candy suitable for gifting or sharing.

Description

The fudge is prepared by boiling evaporated milk, sugar, and butter together in a double boiler until the mixture reaches 234°F, the firm ball stage for candy. Then, chocolate chips and marshmallow creme are mixed in off heat to create a glossy and smooth chocolate base. Vanilla extract adds flavor, and nuts can be stirred in for crunch and extra richness.

The mixture is poured into a lined pan to cool and set before cutting into small squares. This method ensures a creamy, firm fudge that holds its shape well but remains soft to bite. The recipe uses common candy-making techniques and produces a traditional chocolate fudge with a velvety texture and balance of sweetness.
