Indonesian Fried Noodles (Mie Goreng)

Indonesian Fried Noodles, or Mie Goreng, blends chicken, shrimp, and fresh vegetables with egg noodles in a stir-fry seasoned by nasi goreng paste and sweet soy sauce. This fried noodle dish delivers a savory, slightly sweet balance with tender meat and crisp-tender cabbage and bean sprouts. The addition of garlic and a touch of salt rounds the flavors, finished with fresh scallion and tomato garnish to brighten the plate.

Description

Indonesian Fried Noodles (Mie Goreng) combines yellow egg noodles with a mix of chicken pieces, shrimp, shredded cabbage, and bean sprouts cooked quickly over high heat in oil. The distinctive flavor comes from World Foods Nasi Goreng paste alongside kecap manis, a sweet Indonesian soy sauce, and garlic. The noodles and protein soak up the sauce during a final stir-fry, creating a balanced texture of tender noodles and crisp vegetables.

The stir-frying method ensures all ingredients cook rapidly to preserve freshness and textural contrast. The garnishes of chopped scallions and tomato wedges add a fresh, mild finish that complements the savory noodles. This dish can be served as a main meal due to its protein and vegetable content or alongside other Indonesian dishes.

For best results, use the specified paste and kecap manis to capture authentic flavors. Stir-fry continuously to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking. Serve immediately to enjoy the noodles at their best texture.
