Instant Pot Brussels Sprouts

Instant Pot Brussels Sprouts offers a quick way to cook Brussels sprouts using chicken stock and garlic for added flavor. The pressure cooking method tenderizes the sprouts while still allowing you to control their texture from mildly crisp to tender. Seasoned with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic, this recipe brings out the natural flavors of the sprouts without masking them. It's a practical side dish that can complement a variety of main courses.

Description

Instant Pot Brussels Sprouts uses a simple combination of rinsed Brussels sprouts, unsalted chicken stock, minced garlic, and kosher salt. The pressure cooking technique softens the sprouts efficiently, with the option to cook for 2 minutes for a mildly crisp texture or up to 3 minutes for a more tender result. Garlic infused into the cooking liquid adds subtle depth, while finishing with additional salt and freshly ground black pepper enhances the flavor balance. This method ensures the sprouts are cooked evenly and quickly.

The mildly crisp or tender texture achieved through precise pressure cook times allows these Brussels sprouts to be versatile. They can be served alongside meats, poultry, or vegetarian main dishes. Their slightly garlicky, lightly salted flavor can complement a wide range of cuisine styles.

Adjusting the pressure cooking time is important when increasing the amount of Brussels sprouts, as longer pressurizing times can affect the final texture. Users are encouraged to season to taste after cooking. The recipe's simplicity means it can be integrated into many weekly menus with ease.
