Instant Pot Congee with Minced Beef

This Instant Pot Congee with Minced Beef combines jasmine rice and marinated ground beef that is pressure cooked into a smooth, comforting porridge. The addition of chopped spinach adds freshness and color, while green onions provide an aromatic garnish. It is a savory, mild-flavored dish ideal for a simple meal or side, often enjoyed for its soothing texture.

Description

The recipe begins by marinating ground beef with sea salt, sesame oil, and white pepper, infusing it with gentle seasoning. Jasmine rice, marinated beef, and water are cooked together under high pressure in an Instant Pot for a total time that includes pressure build-up and natural release, allowing the rice to break down and thicken into the congee base.

After pressure cooking, the congee may appear watery; chopped spinach is added during a sauté phase in the Instant Pot and stirred until the mixture reaches the desired thickness and consistency. This step incorporates the spinach and allows control over final texture.

The finished congee is seasoned with additional salt if needed, then served garnished with chopped green onions. It is described as mildly flavored and comforting, suitable for colder weather or for those feeling under the weather, and can be a side to more intensely flavored dishes.

The recipe notes highlight its role as a gentle dish and encourage sharing feedback in comments.
