Instant Pot Italian Pork Chops
Description
This recipe begins by browning pork chops in olive oil on the Instant Pot's sauté setting to enhance flavor through caramelization. After removing them, potatoes peeled and quartered are arranged on the bottom of the pot, topped with the pork chops, frozen green beans, and canned diced tomatoes. Italian seasoning, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and chicken broth are added to infuse aromatic and savory notes.
Cooking under high pressure for 13 minutes followed by a quick pressure release finishes the dish efficiently, delivering tender meat and cooked vegetables infused with herb and tomato flavors. The combination of ingredients ensures a mix of textures: soft potatoes, crisp-tender green beans, and juicy pork.
This meal can be served immediately for dinner. The one-pot approach simplifies cleanup and brings together protein and vegetables conveniently.
The notes advise refrigerating leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days, supporting meal prep or subsequent meals.
Ingredients
- 6 pork chops
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 russet potato peeled and quartered
- 16 oz green beans frozen
- 1 can diced tomatoes (15 oz)
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Turn the instant pot to the sauté setting and add in the olive oil. Then add in the pork chops and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned (you may have to work in batches).
- Once the pork chops are browned, remove the pork and turn off the instant pot. Scrape the bottom of the instant pot insert to get any browned bits off the bottom of the insert (this is important step as it could cause you to get the burn notice).
- Peel and quarter potatoes. Lay on top.
- Pour the rest of the ingredients on top.
- Add the lid, lock, and set to sealing.
- Set the pressure (high pressure) to 13 minutes.
- Do a quick release after the cook time to release the pressure from th einstant pot.
- Serve Immediately while here and enjoy!
Notes
- Store leftover pork chops and vegetables in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
