Instant Pot Meatball Sandwich Recipe
Description
The recipe starts by combining ground beef with breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. The mixture is formed into meatballs and browned using the searing function of the Instant Pot. Then, crushed tomatoes, additional Italian seasoning, and optional fresh parsley are added before pressure cooking for 7 minutes, which softens the meat and infuses it with tomato sauce flavor.
The finished meatballs are served on hoagie buns topped with slices of mozzarella cheese, which melts slightly over the warm meatballs. This makes for a satisfying sandwich with a balance of savory meat, zesty tomato sauce, and creamy cheese.
Leftover meatballs can be saved for another meal by adding them to spaghetti or other pasta dishes, making this recipe versatile and practical for home cooks.

- Form into 1 or 2 inch meatballs. I made 20, but you could easily make 24. Brown each meatball in your Instant pot or Electric pressure cooker by using the searing method.
- Once browned, pour the 2 cans of crushed tomatoes over the Meatballs. Add to the pot, the Italian seasoning, salt and pepper, and fresh parsley.
- Cover make sure the valve is set to sealing. Set the pressure to high for 7 minutes. You can do a quick release or do the natural release.
- Place 3 meatballs on a hoagie bun. Spoon over the hoagie bun and top with the mozzarella cheese and enjoy!
Notes
- Leftover meatballs can be refrigerated and reheated by incorporating into spaghetti to create another meal.
