Instant Pot Orange Chicken

Instant Pot Orange Chicken features cubed chicken breasts cooked in a tangy orange and soy sauce blend, thickened with cornstarch slurry. The method combines pressure cooking and sautéing, producing tender chicken coated in a glossy, flavorful sauce with notes of garlic and ginger. Green onions add freshness if used. This dish is convenient and balanced in taste and texture.

Description

The recipe begins by mixing a sauce from orange juice, soy sauce, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, and ground ginger. Cubed, boneless skinless chicken breasts are combined with this sauce in an Instant Pot and pressure cooked briefly. After cooking, the sauce is thickened with a cornstarch-water mixture while sautéeing, creating a smooth, shiny glaze that clings to the chicken pieces. The final result is tender chicken bites saturated in a tangy, sweet, and savory orange-flavored sauce.

Adding green onions as a garnish provides a mild sharpness and color contrast, enhancing the presentation and flavor. The recipe’s technique yields chicken that remains moist and flavorful due to quick pressure cooking followed by sauce thickening within the same pot, reducing cleanup and preserving texture.
