Instant Pot Rice

Instant Pot Rice is prepared using long grain white rice rinsed until clear and cooked under pressure with equal parts water. The method creates fluffy, separate grains after a natural pressure release and a quick release, then fluffing. This technique works well with Jasmine or Basmati varieties, providing efficient hands-off cooking with reliable results for everyday meals.

Description

The Instant Pot Rice recipe combines rinsed long grain white rice with measured water in a pressure cooker. Rinsing removes excess starch for less sticky rice. Cooking under high pressure for four minutes, followed by a natural release, ensures rice is tender and fully cooked. The quick release at the end prevents overcooking. Once done, fluffing the rice separates grains and improves texture. This technique yields rice that complements many dishes by providing a consistent, fluffy base.

Rinsing the rice multiple times until water runs clear is essential to achieve the proper texture and prevent clumping. The balance of water and rice is equal, simplifying preparation. This recipe's method keeps the kitchen cool and frees up time compared to stovetop cooking. It pairs well with diverse main courses or as a simple side dish.
