Instant Pot Taco Meat

Instant Pot Taco Meat is a flavorful ground beef mixture cooked quickly with chunky salsa and taco seasoning under high pressure. The result is tender, seasoned meat ready to use as a filling for tacos or other Tex-Mex dishes. This recipe offers convenient hands-off cooking and can be adapted with different ground meats.

Description

This recipe uses lean ground beef browned in the Instant Pot using the sauté function, coated with taco seasoning and chunky salsa, then pressure cooked on manual high for 10 minutes. After cooking, the pressure is released, and the meat is ready to serve. Draining excess liquid is optional depending on preference.

The combination of salsa and taco seasoning infuses the beef with layered spiced and tangy flavors, while pressure cooking tenderizes the meat and melds the seasonings. This method saves time compared to stovetop simmering.

Instant Pot Taco Meat can be served in tacos, burritos, or as a topping for salads and nachos. Lean beef provides a substantial protein base, but ground chicken or turkey can substitute for variation.

Leftover cooked taco meat freezes well, making it practical for meal prepping or quickly assembling future meals.
