Instant Pot White Beans

Introducing you to fast cooking, no soak instant pot white beans. A great cheap way to cook your beans and perfect for stews, casseroles, soups and much more.

Ingredients

  • 480 ml Haricot Beans
  • 360 ml water
  • 240 ml vegetable stock
  • 1 Tsp oregano
  • 1 Tsp mixed herbs
  • salt
  • black pepper

Instructions

  1. Rinse under a cold tap and then place into the instant pot 2 cups of haricot beans.
  2. Add 1.5 cups of water, followed by seasonings, and mix well.
  3. Add a frozen vegetable stock cube on top.
  4. Place the lid on the instant pot. Set the valve to sealing and cook for 25 minutes on the beans setting.
  5. Do a quick pressure release, stir, and serve.

Notes

  • Texture. We all like our white beans different. 25 minutes with a QPR will produce just cooked white beans that don’t go to mush and is perfect for mixing with rice or into a salad for a one pot dinner. If you want mushy beans do a 30 minute cook time and then do a natural pressure release.
  • Quantities. One recipe is 2 cups of haricot beans, and they will make double when cooked.
  • Frozen Stock. Your frozen stock sits on top and will defrost as the beans cook, creating a much more flavoursome beans recipe.
