Italian Baccala Linguine Recipe

Italian Baccala Linguine combines soaked salt cod with olive oil, garlic, fresh tomatoes, basil, and olives tossed with linguine pasta. The dish features tender, flaky baccalà and a bright, savory sauce with hints of heat from red pepper flakes. Fresh herbs and black olives add aroma and depth, balanced by the mild acidity of grape tomatoes.

Description

This recipe prepares the baccalà by soaking it ahead of time to remove excess salt, then cooking it gently in olive oil with garlic and halved grape tomatoes. The ingredients simmer for around 10 to 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the fish to become tender. Fresh basil leaves and Italian parsley provide herbal brightness, while the sliced black olives contribute briny complexity. A pinch of hot pepper flakes adds subtle heat without overpowering the dish.

Once the linguine is cooked al dente, it is combined with the flavorful baccalà mixture and a bit of reserved pasta water to help bind the sauce. The final dish can be served immediately, offering a harmonious balance of textures with flaky fish, juicy tomatoes, tender pasta, and briny olives.
