Italian Dressing

This Italian Dressing combines extra virgin olive oil with white wine vinegar, Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, garlic, and a blend of dried herbs like oregano, parsley, and basil. It emulsifies into a creamy and tangy dressing with a balanced savory and herby flavor, enhanced by garlic and cheese. The dressing can be shaken in a jar and stored, making it convenient for salads and marinating vegetables or proteins.

Description

Italian Dressing brings together olive oil and white wine vinegar with Parmesan cheese and a small amount of mayonnaise to create a creamy and tangy base. The inclusion of garlic and dried Italian herbs such as oregano, parsley, and basil adds aromatic complexity and depth. Mixing the ingredients by shaking them in a sealed jar ensures the dressing emulsifies properly, giving a smooth texture that clings well to greens or salad components. Its balanced seasoning with salt and black pepper rounds out the flavor for versatile use.

The dressing can be used immediately or stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, allowing the flavors to meld and intensify over time. This makes it a practical homemade option as a salad dressing or marinade, especially when you want a herb-forward, garlicky addition to your dishes without added preservatives.
