Italian Sausage Rigatoni
Description
Italian Sausage Rigatoni features Italian sausage cooked alongside onions and garlic until fully browned, providing a flavorful base. Diced tomatoes and dried basil are added, simmered gently to meld flavors. The mixture is enriched with heavy cream and slices of olives, which introduce a mild creaminess and a salty, slightly tangy bite. Cooked rigatoni pasta is then combined with the sauce, allowing the tubes to capture the rich sauce inside. A sprinkle of Parmesan cheese finishes the dish, lending a salty, nutty note.
The sausage variety including red peppers and caramelized onions adds subtle sweetness and spice complexity, enhancing the overall flavor. The cooking method ensures the meat is well browned while the sauce stays silky and integrated without being too thick. The combination of tomato acidity and cream smoothness balances the flavors well.
This pasta serves as a filling dinner option, suitable for serving with a simple green salad or crusty bread to round out the meal. The olives provide a distinctive tang that pairs well with the cream and tomato base, making it an enjoyable and complete dish.
