Italian Seafood Salad
Description
This Italian Seafood Salad recipe combines an assortment of cooked seafood—shrimp, calamari, and lump blue crab meat—with chopped celery and roasted red peppers. Lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil dress the salad, imparting citrusy brightness and smoothness. Fine sea salt and crushed red pepper flakes layer in seasoning and mild heat.
The ingredients are gently tossed and refrigerated for at least 12 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to chill thoroughly. The celery adds crunch, while the roasted red peppers contribute a smoky sweetness. The seafood maintains a fresh, tender texture throughout.
This salad is suitable as a light appetizer or part of a seafood platter and is best kept cold until served to preserve freshness and texture.
