Italian Wedding Cookies

Italian Wedding Cookies are tender, buttery cookies flavored with almond extract, topped with a sweet almond glaze and festive sprinkles. These cookies have a soft texture and a light crumb that melt in the mouth. Their icing adds both a delicate flavor and a decorative finish. Ideal for special occasions or holidays, they provide a sweet treat that pairs well with coffee or tea.

Description

Italian Wedding Cookies combine softened unsalted butter, sugar, and almond extract, creamed together for a light base. Eggs are incorporated to enrich the dough before gradually adding flour and baking powder for structure. Milk is mixed in to achieve a balanced dough consistency. The cookies are portioned with a mini scooper and baked until they hold a gentle golden edge. After cooling, they are topped with a smooth almond icing made from powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract. This icing sets to a delicate shine and is decorated with colorful sprinkles for a festive appearance. The finished cookies offer a soft texture complemented by the sweet, nutty glaze. They lend themselves well to celebrations and teatime treats.
