Jallab

Jallab is a popular fruit syrup in the Middle East, made from molasses of carob, dates, and grapes. It is especially well known in Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 3 tablespoons Jallab syrup (date, grape or carob molasses)
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon rose water
  • 1 teaspoon golden raisins
  • 1 tablespoon pine nuts
  • crushed ice

Instructions

  1. Pour the jalab syrup into a large glass, cover with cold water and mix.
  2. Add crushed ice.
  3. Garnish the drink with raisins and pine nuts.
  4. Serve immediately.
