Kimchi Brown Rice Bliss Bowls
Description
The Kimchi Brown Rice Bliss Bowl features cooked brown rice as a hearty base layered with a variety of fresh vegetables and fermented kimchi, which adds a distinctive tang and spice. The peeled cucumber ribbons and thinly sliced red cabbage provide crisp freshness and crunch, while sliced avocado introduces a creamy contrast. Tempeh, marinated and baked or grilled, contributes a rich, nutty protein component. The bowl is finished with a drizzle of peanut sauce, infusing it with a nutty, savory flavor, sesame seeds for added texture, and thinly sliced Thai chiles for optional heat. Lime slices brighten the bowl at serving, and microgreens offer a fresh garnish.
This composition offers a balance of textures and flavors: firm rice, crunchy vegetables, creamy avocado, tangy kimchi, and savory tempeh blended with a rich peanut sauce. It is an assembled dish that does not require cooking beyond preparing the tempeh and rice and can be adapted to individual preferences by adjusting the amounts or ingredients. Serving lime slices allows for a vibrant citrus note to be added to taste.
Choosing vegan kimchi ensures the bowl suits dietary restrictions, and marinating the tempeh prepares it for grilling or baking, which can bring additional layers of flavor. This bowl serves as a wholesome meal that balances grains, vegetables, fermentation, and protein in a single dish.
