Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Prepare the rolls: Cut the King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, creating a bottom and top layer. Arrange the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish, placing them side by side to form a base.
- Make the cheesecake filling: In a medium-sized bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth and creamy. Add the heavy cream and mix until well combined.
- Assemble the danish: Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the bottom layer of rolls, using a spatula to smooth it out. Add the top layer of rolls over the cheesecake filling.
- Bake the danish: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top of the danish is golden brown and the filling is set.
- Add the fruit topping: Once the danish is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Spread fruit preserves over the top or arrange fresh berries on top of the danish.
- Garnish and serve: Optionally, sprinkle powdered sugar on top for extra sweetness and presentation. Slice into squares and serve warm.
Notes
- You can make this dessert ahead of time by assembling it the night before, refrigerating it, and baking it the next morning.
- For a different flavor, use flavored cream cheese or add a touch of lemon zest to the filling.
- If you prefer a crispier top, you can broil the danish for 1-2 minutes at the end of baking. Be sure to watch it closely to avoid burning.
- You can also substitute the fruit preserves with your favorite jam or a mixture of fresh fruits, such as strawberries, blueberries, or peaches.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days or refrigerated for up to 3 days.
