Korean Beef Bowl
Description
This Korean Beef Bowl recipe uses ground beef quickly cooked in a skillet along with a sauce combining brown sugar, reduced-sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, ground ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes. The garlic is browned to release its fragrance before adding the beef, ensuring the base flavor is well developed. After the beef is cooked through and drained of excess fat, the sauce mixture is stirred in alongside sliced green onions, allowing the flavors to meld during a brief simmer.
The dish offers a balance of sweet, salty, and spicy notes with tender ground beef. Toasted sesame seeds sprinkled on top add a mild nutty flavor and light texture contrast. Its saucy nature makes it suitable for serving over rice or noodles to complete a meal.
Serve the Korean Beef Bowl immediately while hot for best texture and flavor. Adjust the amount of chili flakes to control the level of heat according to preference.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup brown sugar packed
- ¼ cup soy sauce reduced sodium
