Lamb, Feta and Mint burgers

Lamb, Feta, and Mint Burgers are juicy patties combining lamb mince with crumbled feta, fresh mint, garlic, onion, and cumin. The mixture is shaped and grilled or broiled until cooked through with a flavorful, tender interior. Served in buns with tzatziki and salad leaves, these burgers offer a Mediterranean-inspired taste and satisfying texture.

Description

This recipe mixes ground lamb with tangy feta cheese, chopped mint, grated garlic and onion, and warm cumin, creating a well-seasoned burger patty. The feta adds moisture and a slight salty tang, while mint gives freshness that complements the rich lamb. The garlic and onion enhance savory depth. Patties are formed evenly with a slight center indentation to keep their shape when cooked.

Cooked on a grill or under a broiler, the burgers develop a browned exterior and remain tender inside. Serving them in buns with tzatziki sauce and peppery salad leaves like rocket balances richness with cool, creamy, and fresh elements. They pair well with homemade potato wedges or Greek salad.

The recipe is suitable for freezing to prepare in advance, and nutrition info is approximate.

Ingredients

Servings

Lamb, Feta and Mint burgers

  • 750 lamb mince
  • 100 g feta cheese crumbled
  • 4 tablespoons mint chopped finely
  • cloves  garlic  grated or crushed
  • onion finely grated, small
  • teaspoons  cumin ground
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

To Serve

  • tzatziki
  • burger buns
  • rocket or other salad leaves

Instructions

  1. Place all the burger ingredients in a large bowl and mix together with your hands until thoroughly combined. Really give it a good squishing!
  2. Divide the mixture into 6 and roll each portion into a large ball then squash to make a burger patty.
  3. Press a small dent in the centre of each burger to help stop the burger from rising up too much in the middle.
  4. Preheat your grill (broiler) to medium high or prepare your BBQ.
  5. Cook the burgers for 5 minutes on each side or until done to your liking.
  6. Serve in burger buns on with a good dollop of tzatziki and a scattering of salad leaves on top. If you like, serve these burgers with homemade potato wedges, Greek salad and more tzatziki on the side.
