Lamb Gyro Recipe
Description
The gyro meat is prepared by blending ground lamb with finely grated onion, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, then shaping and pan-frying it until browned on both sides. After cooking, the meat is pulled apart into thin strands to mimic traditional gyro texture. Pita bread is toasted lightly, then layered with the shredded meat and topped with a combination of feta cheese, fresh tomato slices, shredded romaine lettuce, red onion slices, and a dollop of tangy tzatziki sauce.
This combination creates a balanced Greek-style sandwich with rich lamb flavor balanced by creamy, fresh, and crunchy elements. Toasting the pita enhances texture and keeps the bread warm for serving.
