Lasagna Dip
Description
This Lasagna Dip recipe starts with browning Italian sausage and seasoning with garlic and Italian herbs. After simmering with marinara sauce to meld flavors, the mixture is topped with ricotta cheese dollops, a generous layer of shredded mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Baking at 450°F melts the cheeses into a bubbly topping that creates a luscious layer over the savory meat sauce. The dip combines creamy, savory, and tangy elements reminiscent of classic lasagna without the need for pasta sheets.
It is served warm straight from the oven with baguette slices for dipping, making it suitable as a hearty appetizer or party dish.
Leftovers can be cooled and stored in an airtight container, even kept in the skillet covered with plastic wrap if desired. To reheat, microwave or warm in the oven at 400°F until heated through, preserving its melty texture.
Ingredients
- ½ pound Italian sausage 2 links, casings removed
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
- 3 leaves basil chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450℉.

- Add the marinara sauce and stir. Taste for seasoning and adjust with salt and pepper as needed. Bring to a simmer, cook for 5 minutes then remove from heat.
- Top with dollops of ricotta cheese all over the sausage mixture, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Finally sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese melts and is bubbly.
- Serve with baguette slices.
Notes
- Cool leftover dip before storing in an airtight container or in the skillet covered with plastic wrap.
- Reheat the dip in the microwave or in the oven at 400°F for about 10 minutes until warmed through.
