Lemon Creamy Salmon Orzo

Lemon Creamy Salmon Orzo combines seared salmon fillets with orzo pasta cooked in a garlic, shallot, white wine, and chicken broth mixture enriched with cream, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and seasonings. The dish results in tender salmon nestled within creamy, lemon-infused orzo, balancing mild seafood flavor with bright citrus and savory spices.

Description

This Lemon Creamy Salmon Orzo starts with salmon fillets seasoned with paprika, salt, and pepper, then pan-seared briefly on both sides until browned. After removing the salmon, garlic and shallot are sautéed in the same skillet before deglazing with white wine. Orzo pasta is added, coating in the flavorful base.

Chicken broth is poured in to simmer the orzo until tender, during which heavy cream, Parmesan, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt are stirred in, creating a creamy and lightly spiced sauce. The salmon pieces return to the pan, cooking together with the orzo to meld flavors fully.

The finished dish offers a creamy orzo with hints of lemon brightness and savory herbs paired with tender salmon seared for color and texture. It serves as a filling main course balancing richness and citrus freshness.

If additional liquid is needed to soften the orzo, adding more chicken broth during cooking helps maintain a creamy consistency without drying the dish.
