Lemon Garlic Shrimp Scampi

This Lemon Garlic Shrimp Scampi features large shrimp cooked quickly in a buttery olive oil sauce infused with garlic and red pepper flakes for subtle heat. Bright lemon juice and zest with white wine create a tangy, aromatic sauce that coats al dente linguine perfectly. A finish of fresh parsley and parmesan adds herbal freshness and savory richness, making a flavorful seafood pasta dish.

Description

Lemon Garlic Shrimp Scampi centers on shrimp sautéed in a mixture of butter and olive oil with minced garlic and red pepper flakes for a mildly spicy background. The shrimp are cooked just until opaque to retain tenderness, then set aside to keep warm. White wine, lemon juice, and lemon zest are added to the pan and boiled briefly to develop a slightly reduced, bright sauce. The shrimp and fresh parsley return to the pan for a quick toss to coat everything evenly.

Served over linguine cooked to al dente, the dish balances buttery richness with citrus acidity and a touch of heat from the pepper flakes. Grated parmesan cheese and additional chopped parsley garnish the plate, bringing a hint of nuttiness and herbal brightness to the finished dish. This recipe highlights simple, fresh ingredients cooked precisely to combine texture and flavor harmoniously.

To maintain shrimp tenderness, avoid overcooking by limiting total cooking time to a few minutes. Using fresh lemon juice and zest is important for lively citrus notes. Adding the shrimp at the end into the sauce prevents overcooking and keeps the seafood juicy.
