Lemon Icing Glaze

Lemon Icing Glaze combines powdered sugar, melted butter, lemon juice, vanilla, and milk to create a smooth, creamy topping. The balance of tangy lemon and sweet icing sugar forms a rich glaze that hardens slightly after mixing. It is ideal for pouring over cakes, cookies, or pastries while still fresh to maintain a glossy finish and a zesty taste.

Description

The Lemon Icing Glaze recipe blends icing sugar and melted butter with fresh lemon juice, vanilla, and milk to yield a creamy and sweet glaze with a bright citrus flavor. The glaze achieves a smooth texture when mixed until combined and is best used immediately before it sets, giving a shiny, coating finish to baked goods.

The lemon juice provides a refreshing tartness that complements the sweetness of the powdered sugar, while the melted butter adds richness. The vanilla enhances the flavor complexity, making this glaze suitable for drizzling over cakes, muffins, or sweet breads.

For storage, the glaze can be refrigerated up to 48 hours if covered. Before reuse, it should be stirred to restore smoothness as it thickens in the fridge. Applying the glaze right after preparing ensures the right consistency and shine for your desserts.
