Ingredients
- 8 oz penne or rigatoni pasta
- 1 lb ground beef
- 6 lices Bacon chopped
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup beef broth
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley optional, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped bacon and cook until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving some bacon fat in the skillet.
- In the same skillet, add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat, if necessary.
- Add minced garlic, onion powder, and garlic powder to the beef. Stir for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing it in the sauce until fully coated. If the sauce is too thick, add the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
- Stir in shredded cheddar cheese and crispy bacon. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the pasta immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- You can use ground turkey or chicken as a leaner alternative to ground beef.
- For extra flavor, try adding some sautéed onions, bell peppers, or mushrooms to the beef mixture.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can add more Parmesan cheese or reduce the cream further.
- For a more decadent dish, top with extra shredded cheese and bake in the oven for 10 minutes at 375°F (190°C) to melt the cheese on top.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or on the stove with a splash of milk or cream.
- This recipe can be made ahead by preparing the pasta and sauce separately, then combining and reheating when ready to serve.
