Lucky Charms Rice Krispie Treats

Lucky Charms Rice Krispie Treats combine melted butter and mini marshmallows with crisped rice cereal and colorful Lucky Charms marshmallows folded in both within the mixture and pressed on top. The result is a chewy, sweet bar with bursts of marshmallow sweetness throughout, offering a playful variation on the classic treat.

Description

This recipe blends butter and mini marshmallows melted into a creamy base, which is then mixed with crisped rice cereal for a crunchy, chewy texture. Adding Lucky Charms marshmallows both inside the mixture and pressed on top introduces pockets of fruity sweetness and a fun, colorful appearance. Pressing the mixture into a lined dish ensures smooth, even bars that hold their shape well once set.

Once cooled for about an hour, the treats can be sliced into squares for serving. This no-bake dessert is a nostalgic twist on traditional rice krispie treats, incorporating the iconic Lucky Charms marshmallows for extra flavor and visual appeal.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 4 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 1 10- ounce mini marshmallow bag
  • 6 to 7 cups crisped rice cereal
  • 2 cups marshmallow lucky charms marshmallows or as many as you can find in the bag

Instructions

  1. Line a 9x9-inch baking dish with parchment paper or spray it with nonstick spray. You can also use a 9x13 inch baking dish, the squares just won't be as thick!
  2. In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat. Once the butter is melted and even a little browned, stir in the mini marshmallows. Stir until the mixture is creamy and the marshmallows have melted.
  3. Turn off the heat and fold in the rice krispies. Completely mix until all the rice cereal is mixed in. Stir in 1 cup of the lucky charms marshmallows and fold them in for a few minutes. Press the mixture into the dish. I like to press it down with a piece of parchment paper so it gets super smooth on top and it doesn't stick to the spoon. Then I press the remaining lucky charm marshmallows into the top! Let them set for about an hour. Slice into squares and serve!
