Lucky Charms Treats

Lucky Charms Treats blend the sweet, chewy texture of marshmallows with crunchy Lucky Charms cereal pieces, excluding the marshmallow charms in the base mix. Melted butter and mini marshmallows create a sticky binder, while the colorful marshmallow charms are sprinkled on top before cooling. This no-bake treat is easy to prepare and brings a playful, sweet crunch that kids and adults enjoy alike.

Description

These Lucky Charms Treats use the classic combination of miniature marshmallows melted with butter to create a soft, sticky base that holds the cereal together. The cereal's crunchy texture contrasts with the gooey marshmallow mixture. Once mixed and pressed into a pan, the treat is topped with the separated marshmallow charms, adding bursts of sweetness and color.

The treats are cooled until firm and then cut into squares, making a convenient, handheld sweet snack. The straightforward preparation makes these treats suitable for casual parties or fun snacks for children.

Adjusting the pan size controls the thickness of the treats. For thicker bars, layering half the cereal and charms, then repeating with the remaining ingredients, yields a denser texture and more pronounced charm topping.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 7 cups Lucky Charms cereal cereal & charms separated
  • 6 cups miniature marshmallows
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Butter a 9 x 13 pan and set aside.
  2. In a large pot, melt butter and mini marshmallows over medium heat until smooth and creamy. Stir in vanilla and cereal (not the marshmallow charms).
  3. Press warm cereal mixture into the pan. Sprinkle immediately with marshmallow charms and gently press to adhere.
  4. Cool completely and cut into squares.

Notes

  • Butter the pan well to prevent the treats from sticking on removal.
  • Use a smaller pan for thicker treats; layering half the cereal and charms, pressing down, then topping with remaining cereal and charms can help with this.
  • Press the marshmallow charms gently into the warm mixture so they adhere without melting.
