Lumpiang Sariwa with Fresh Lumpia Wrapper

Lumpiang Sariwa with Fresh Lumpia Wrapper is a Filipino fresh spring roll consisting of a vegetable and shrimp filling wrapped in thin homemade flour-egg wrappers. The filling combines tofu, shrimp, sweet potato, cabbage, green beans, carrots, and aromatics like garlic and onion, seasoned with fish sauce and black pepper, then sautéed to tender. The wrappers are made from a smooth, thin batter cooked briefly into delicate pancakes that encase the savory filling. Together they create a fresh, tender, and subtly flavored roll ideal for serving as an appetizer or light meal.

Description

Lumpiang Sariwa with Fresh Lumpia Wrapper brings together a mix of tofu, shrimp, and vegetables including sweet potato, cabbage, green beans, and carrot, all sautéed with garlic, onion, fish sauce, and black pepper for seasoning. The filling is cooked to a tender and well-seasoned consistency, highlighted by the use of a shrimp bouillon cube for added depth.

The fresh lumpia wrappers are made from a batter of flour, eggs, oil, and water, cooked on a lightly greased non-stick pan to form thin, soft crepe-like layers. These wrappers are pliable and delicate, perfectly complementing the moist vegetable filling inside. The rolls are assembled by spooning the filling onto the wrappers and rolling gently to maintain their shape and texture.

This dish serves as a fresh, light option suitable for various occasions, providing a balance of textures and a mild, savory flavor profile. The combination of sautéed vegetables and soft wrappers makes these spring rolls ideal to enjoy fresh without frying.
