Macro-Friendly Cheeseburger Quesadilla (10-Minute)

The Macro-Friendly Cheeseburger Quesadilla offers a quick, satisfying way to enjoy the flavors of a cheeseburger folded inside a crisp tortilla with melty cheddar cheese. The seasoned ground beef mixed with ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce fills the quesadilla, enhanced further by sharp cheddar and pickle chips for texture and tang. It’s a practical meal option that can be cooked fresh or prepped ahead for convenience.

Description

This recipe layers ground beef cooked with ketchup, yellow mustard, and Worcestershire sauce onto a flour tortilla lined with shredded sharp cheddar cheese and pickle chips. Folding and toasting the tortilla seals the filling and crisps the exterior, creating a handheld quesadilla that combines cheeseburger flavors with the convenience of a quesadilla form. The use of lean ground beef contributes to a rich meaty base without excess fat.

The cooking method involves browning the meat first, then assembling the quesadilla in a skillet until golden brown, efficiently melting the cheese and warming the beef. Serving it with optional special sauce adds a creamy, tangy component complementing the savory fillings. The recipe also allows for meal prep, where the beef mixture can be made in advance and quesadillas assembled or reheated as needed.

Pickle chips introduce a crisp, acidic counterpoint to the rich cheese and meat, echoing traditional cheeseburger toppings. This quesadilla can be paired with fresh salad or enjoyed as a standalone dish for a balanced meal with protein and carbs.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 lb. ground beef I used 96/4
  • 1/2 cup ketchup sugar-free, 120g
  • 2 Tbsp yellow mustard 30g
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese 2% shredded, 112g
  • pickle chips for serving
  • 4 flour tortillas I used carb balance
  • special sauce optional for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook beef in a skillet over medium heat, crumbling as you go, until brown, then remove from heat. Stir in the ketchup, mustard and worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Now, get all your ingredients ready! Wipe the skillet clean and spray with cooking spray. Set to medium heat. Place the tortilla flat in the skillet. Sprinkle cheese across the whole tortilla (1/4 cup each). Add the beef mixture to one side (118g each). Top with pickles (as many as you want) then fold the tortilla in half over the beef side. Press down with a spatula to seal the quesadilla and cook until golden brown.
  3. Enjoy alongside special sauce + whatever else sounds good and enjoy!

Notes

  • Prepare the beef mixture ahead to save time; assemble quesadillas when ready to eat.
  • Wrap cooked quesadillas tightly in foil and store in ziplock bags for reheating later.
