Magic Cookie Bars

Magic Cookie Bars are layered dessert bars featuring a graham cracker and butter crust topped with chopped walnuts, semisweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, sweetened coconut flakes, and sweetened condensed milk. Baked until set, they offer a rich, chewy texture combining nutty, sweet, and chocolate flavors in each bite.

Description

Magic Cookie Bars start with a crust of melted butter and graham cracker crumbs pressed into a pan base. Toppings of chopped walnuts, semisweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and sweetened shredded coconut are layered evenly over the crust. The sweetened condensed milk is poured over the top to bind the ingredients together during baking.

Baked at 350°F, the bars achieve a chewy texture with melted chips and toasted coconut on top. Once fully cooled, the bars are sliced into squares. The combination of nuts, chocolate, butterscotch, and coconut creates a sweet, rich treat popular as a dessert or snack.

Pressing the crust firmly and spreading the layers evenly ensures proper cohesion. Cooling thoroughly before slicing keeps the bars intact when cut. These bars do not require frosting or glazing to add sweetness or moisture.
