Magic Samoas Layer Bars

Magic Samoas Layer Bars are rich dessert bars that blend a buttery vanilla wafer crust with layers of sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, caramel pieces, and shredded sweetened coconut. Baked until golden and just set, these bars offer a chewy texture with sweet, caramelized, and chocolatey flavors reminiscent of popular coconut treats.

Description

The recipe begins by combining crushed vanilla wafers with melted butter to form a firm crust pressed into a baking pan. Sweetened condensed milk is poured evenly over the crust, acting as a glue to hold subsequent layers. Semisweet chocolate morsels, quartered caramels, and shredded sweetened coconut create layered textures and flavors characteristic of the Samoa cookie inspired bars.

Baking the bars until lightly browned causes the condensed milk and layer ingredients to meld, producing a chewy bar with a buttery base, contrasting textures from coconut and candies, and pockets of melted chocolate. Cooling completely before slicing ensures clean cuts and the right texture.

These bars are an indulgent treat suitable for sharing at gatherings or enjoying as a dessert. They can be served at room temperature and stored after baking for convenient snacking.
