Mango Sorbet

This Mango Sorbet uses ripe mangoes blended with sugar, water, lime juice, dark rum, and a pinch of salt to create a smooth, refreshing frozen dessert. The combination of natural fruit sweetness and a hint of citrus acidity is balanced by the rum, which adds depth without overpowering. The sorbet's creamy texture and tropical flavor make it a light, palate-cleansing treat for warm days or after meals.

Description

The Mango Sorbet recipe blends peeled, seeded, and cubed ripe mangoes with sugar and water to form the sorbet's sweet base. Freshly squeezed lime juice introduces brightness, while dark rum contributes a subtle warmth and complexity. A small pinch of salt enhances the overall flavor balance. After pureeing the ingredients until smooth, the mixture is thoroughly chilled before being frozen in an ice cream maker to achieve a creamy yet refreshing texture that is typical of sorbets.

The result is a vibrant, fruity dessert that captures the essence of mango with a mild tang from the lime and a balanced sweetness. The absence of dairy or eggs keeps the sorbet light, making it suitable as a snack or a palate cleanser between courses.

For storage, keep the sorbet in an airtight container in the freezer, where it will maintain quality for up to two months. Before serving, letting it soften at room temperature for about 15 minutes ensures easier scooping without compromising texture.
