Margarita Recipe

The Margarita recipe features a cocktail made with silver tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau, and simple syrup. It’s shaken with ice and served over ice in salted glasses, garnished with a wedge of fresh lime. The balance of citrus, sweetness, and tequila creates a classic, refreshing drink.

Description

This Margarita Recipe begins by preparing a simple syrup from sugar and water boiled and chilled, though store-bought syrup can be used. The cocktail combines silver tequila with freshly squeezed lime juice, orange liqueur, and simple syrup. These ingredients are shaken with ice to chill and blend the flavors.

The Margarita is served strained over ice in glasses rimmed with salt, which adds contrast to the sweet and sour elements. A wedge of lime garnish complements the bright citrus notes. Adjusting the amount of simple syrup can tailor the sweetness.

Using quality tequila and a premium orange liqueur ensures the character of each ingredient is noticeable. The recipe can be scaled to make larger batches suitable for parties. Variations such as a spicy margarita exist for those who prefer a kick, although this recipe keeps to the classic flavor profile.
