Marshmallow Slime (2 Ways)
Description
The first method mixes marshmallow fluff with powdered sugar and cornstarch, kneading in more cornstarch until a malleable slime forms without heating. The second method involves melting whole marshmallows briefly in a microwave until softened, then stirring in powdered sugar and cornstarch before finishing kneading by hand once cool. Both slimes rely on the sticky, sweet marshmallow base balanced by the powdery ingredients to create a tactile, stretchy substance.
The texture is soft and stretchy, closely resembling the pliability of classic slime but with a chewier, sugary consistency. The cooking step in the second method allows for melting and better incorporation of marshmallows but requires adult supervision. The slime can be softened by short microwaving if it becomes too firm during use.
These recipes are suitable for children and craft times, providing a hands-on activity using common kitchen ingredients with two variation options depending on available marshmallow products and preference for cooking.

How to Make Marshmallow Slime with Marshmallow Fluff
- Add marshmallow fluff, powdered sugar, and 1/4 cup cornstarch to mixing bowl. Stir together until flour and sugar mix into marshmallow.
- Add remaining 1/2 cup cornstarch little by little, and finish kneading by hand. (If slime is still too sticky to play with, continue to work in cornstarch 1 teaspoon at a time).
- If slime thickens while you play, simply microwave for 5-10 seconds to soften.
How to Make Marshmallow Slime with Marshmallows
- Place marshmallows in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 20-30 seconds, until marshmallows start to puff and melt. If using jumbo marshmallows, you may want to cut in half for more even heating.CAUTION - handle with care, as bowl may become hot. Adults should handle this step.
- Remove bowl from microwave and stir powdered sugar and 1/4 cup cornstarch into marshmallows.
- When mixture is to thick to stir with a spoon, finish kneading by hand (make sure it is cool enough before doing so). Add more cornstarch if needed and/or oil hands to keep slime from sticking.
