Matcha Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Description
This recipe begins by washing and completely drying large fresh strawberries to ensure the chocolate adheres properly. White chocolate is melted gently using a double boiler or microwave, then mixed with coconut oil and matcha powder until smooth and uniform in color and flavor.
Each strawberry is dipped by holding the stem end and coated fully in the matcha chocolate mixture. Excess chocolate is allowed to drip off before placing the strawberries on parchment paper. Chilling them in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes solidifies the chocolate coating into a firm shell that contrasts with the juicy strawberry within.
These treats combine the natural sweetness and slight tartness of strawberries with a creamy, slightly bitter matcha chocolate layer. They can be presented as elegant desserts or snacks. Additional decorative drizzles of white or dark chocolate can be applied after chilling for visual interest.
