Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 egg large
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 1 red chili pepper sliced (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the salt. Carefully place the eggs into the boiling water. Boil for 6 minutes for soft-boiled eggs.
  2. After boiling, transfer eggs to ice water to stop cooking. Cool for 10 minutes, then carefully peel and set aside.
  3. Mix the soy sauce, water, honey, garlic, green onions, chili pepper (if using), and sesame seeds in a bowl.
  4. Place the peeled eggs in a container. Pour the marinade over the eggs, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  5. To serve, take the eggs out of the marinade and cut them in half if you'd like. They can be enjoyed over rice or as a side dish.
