Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup crushed saltine crackers
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, crushed crackers, milk, onion, bell pepper, eggs, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
  3. Press the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread this glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  6. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
